Rufford Abbey’s Christmas Trail family day out review
What to expect
The Christmas trail at Rufford Abbey is on from 2nd December-2nd January 2017. You can find Rufford Abbey at Rufford Abbey Country Park, Newark, NG22 9. The trail costs only £1 per person and the walk takes visitors along a woodland stroll and is open 10am-3:30pm, open daily apart from Christmas Day.
There is also a Santa’s grotto on weekends 11am-4pm at £5 a child with gift.
We love Rufford Abbey! It’s my go to place. I have taken my two boys (18 months apart in age) numerous times and it’s just easy…….. stress free every time! It’s located just past Centre Parcs and cost £3 to park. I have discovered this is free during the week in December, too!
I usually take a picnic but the cafe is lovely and a little outdoor food stall too. The Christmas trail costs £1 and is set out lovely across the grounds. The trail took us around 30mins – 1 hour to complete and the kids got a little bag of Harribo for completing it. We take Scooters and go around the lake which isn’t massive so is doable with little legs. There is a fabulous maze there and a lovely wooden play village with tunnels, bridges, little huts and a sand area! For £3 this is an amazing day out.
Thank you for sharing Hayley! Such a bargain for a Christmas family day out. 🙂 I hope they have this trail on next year!
