Where can I see the lights and decorations?
Abbeydale Park Rise, Sheffield S17 3PD
Inside information tells us that the lights typically start from 1st December. This year, 2017, the lights will be switched on in trees and houses tomorrow on December 1st.
Nikki, who lives on Abbeydale Park Rise, told us,
“Big John from Hallam FM is officially switching on the lights at 5pm at house no. 57 on Wednesday 6th December. The lights will be on from the 1st December, that was just the time he could do. We are also having an event on Saturday 16th December on the road (mullled wine, mince pies, Christmassy activities, that sort of thing). All are welcome to both.
This year we are raising money for St Lukes and would love it if people are happy to donate. The Just Giving link is here“
So many people who live in Sheffield go to Abbeydale Park Rise during Christmas time for a lovely festive tradition. It’s a unique experience to walk down a street looking at all the lights and Christmas decorations; a wonderful experience. Families love doing this with their kids who will be so excited to see the street lit up from top to bottom and the residents on the street really go all out with a tremendous effort to turn in into a living winter wonderland.
