Hello, hello! Welcome to another weekend roundup. I’m feeling sunburnt following this bank holidays heat wave, anyone else?! Such a shock to the system as we’ve not really had much good weather so far this year. It’ll be feeling much cooler this weekend… and I’m actually glad about that! Are you looking for things to do, ideas to keep the family occupied and day out inspiration for this weekend in Sheffield? This weekend roundup will give you plenty of options! May 12/13 Sheffield For Kids: Out & About Weekend Roundup

This weeks top 5 ideas

One for… fun museum

We recently just found Wakefield Museum and it’s so, so fun! It’s completely free too and in the same building is a library and cafe. Eric was entertained for ages and had so much fun. Read this review here & see our photos!!

One for… free day out

If you can travel, there are so many museums in Hull, all free! (plus The Deep which is enough indoor options for an entire weekend). We really loved the Streetlife Museum. For more free options closer to home, try Bolehill Playground in Crookes ( a new favourite ) followed by charity shop shopping! And don’t forget the wonderful Botanical Gardens and Hillsborough Park nearby. Indoors, don’t forget about the free trail for Weston Park Museum.

One for… something you might not have already done

I think Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath is a total treat day out and hidden gem. There is so much to do there and it’s not talked about enough; it’s really good! But it’s far and a little expensive, so another option closer to home would be Pot House Hamlet in Silkstone Common (read this review from our community group). We just went today and Eric really loved Crafty Kids with a fun outdoor area (£5) and seeing the friendly animals in the petting farm (free).

One for… eating out

Did you know the Showroom cinema cafe bar have a new kids menu? I’ve always thought the cafe/bar is really relaxed and child friendly, good spot for an alcoholic drink in the city centre if you have little ones in tow.

For more child friendly places to eat see this guide with 22+ options!

One for… all the family

I’ve recently been recommended to go to Renishaw Hall & Gardens which is on my bucket list especially in this season as it’s bursting with bluebells. It looks absolutely wonderful with lots of magical little areas for children to explore in.

Have a wonderful weekend & please remember to SHARE this post! Thank you!
