It’s Sharrow Festival 2018 on Saturday at Mount Pleasant Park. Loads to see and do like 3 stages with performances, kids activities, stalls and graffiti wall. Plus it’s free.

Ruskin Park Fun Day on Saturday from 2-4pm is free and includes a bouncy castle, refreshments, activities and games. Ruskin Park is in Walkley and has a sand pit and playground.

Stoneface Creative in Stannington, S6 is having a Superhero showcase weekend. Free entry, 11-4pm on both days. DC & Marvel, treasure hunt, refreshments, new woodland gallery, raffle and more!

Cliffhanger Festival

The Outdoor City Cliffhanger inner-city festival celebrating the outdoors is on from friday-sunday with a wide range of free activities, events and entertainment across the city centre. Admission is free, activities are charged separately.

Spot loads of tractors at this years Tractor Rally 2018, around Low & High Bradfield, Our Cow Molly and Storrs Green Farm between 10:30am-2:30pm. The Tractor Rally which will cover a route of over 25 miles begins at Storrs Green Farm, Storrs, Sheffield, S6, before making its way to Our Cow Molly for an ice cream stop. The Rally will then continue onto Bentiholmes Farm, Oughtibridge before going on to finish at the Nags Head Inn, Loxley for an afternoon lunch.

Bears!

See the new exhibition Bears! at The Cooper Gallery in Barnsley. Free exhibition from Seven Stories with story telling and childrens activities. Plus there is an outdoor zone, cafe and it’s just across the road from Experience Barnsley Museum which is also free! Totally recommend that museum.

Whirlow Hall Farm Festival is on Sunday, 11-4pm. adults £6 on the door, under 14s free. Live stage, pop up beach, street food, 70 local craft and farm stalls, funfair rides, forest school fun and looooads more.

Try the Family Open Hour – Pond Dipping at Holly Hagg on Sunday, 2:30-4pm. Meet & feed alpacas, go pond dipping and more farm fun to be had. adults £1.60, kids 80p.

Wortley Hall is hosting a vintage vehicle rally on Sunday. See vintage cars, motorbikes, plus stalls and food and drink.

It’s Pedlars Night Market weekend! Free admission. Street food & drink, live music, cocktails, art.Family friendly in the early evenings.

Meet the animals at Mayfield Alpacas Animal Park encounter on Sunday.

Pontefract Liquorice Festival 2018 looks fun! Pontefract city centre & pontefract castle, includes a liquorice land train, kids activities, showing of willy Wonka & the chocolate factory & live entertainment.

Take a trip down the rabbit hole at Wollaton Hall, Nottingham on Sunday. Chapterhouse Theatre Company present classic tale of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland from 6pm.

Step back in time over the weekend at Temple Newsams Time Travellers event in Leeds.

Watch The Lion King outdoors at Rufford Abbey & Country Park from 11:30am. Free entry, car parking charges apply.

Bradford Literature Festival is jam packed full of free events and activities for children over the weekend at City Park. There’s loads to choose from and join in with; get the childrens brochure here. This weekend there’s Under The Sea workshops, performances and displays on Saturday, plus fantastic Harry Potter activities on Sunday. Plus enjoy water play in the City Park pool and fountains. And National Science & Media Museum (free!)

  1. The room on the broom adventure trail in Wakefield, at Anglers Country Park is really fantastic. Plus there’s a cafe and playground. There are activity packs to buy for a small cost but they’re not needed to do or enjoy the trail.
  2. Medieval Mayhem indoor play centre has pop up sandpits, chalk boards and mud kitchens outdoors!
  3. Padley Gorge is a very popular place on a hot summers weekend for a paddle and a picnic. Plus the Bogart trail at Longshaw Estate, National Trust is loads of fun and pushchair friendly.
  4. We loved Hardwick Hall, another lovely National Trust day out. We had lots of fun at the woodland walk trail.
  5. Feeling adventurous? Try this scenic Lodge Moor & Wyming Brook walk. It’s quite advanced & you’ll need a baby carrier. Plus there’s a lovely pub at the end! What’s on this weekend in and around Sheffield for kids July 7/8
