Hello & happy weekend roundup day! Weekend roundups are published every Wednesday during term time (school holidays feature bonus editions). Last week I wrote the roundup a week in advance as we went to Center Parcs on holiday, so it’s good to be writing this at the right time this week. The weather forecast is looking wet wet wet for Saturday and could be dry on Sunday; so a mixed weekend.

For a fun day out in Manchester and indoors, there’s Legoland discovery centre and Sealife in the same building at Trafford City! You can get combo tickets for both.

National Space Centre in Leicester is free returns for 12 months with your entry, it’s indoors, fun and has real rockets! It’s BRICKISH weekend event Saturday & Sunday, included in entry price/annual pass – a weekend full of LEGO!

It’s FREE entry at Wakefield Museum and although it’s small, we really liked it and you can easily be there a few hours. Plus there’s a library and cafe in the same building, and on Saturday enjoy free family fun activities and dici-trails.

There’s lots of films on this weekend in local cinemas, and most of them have family discounted showings – check their websites. Just for an example, Light Cinema have Lego film, how to train a dragon, Mary Poppins and Peppa Pig to name a few.

There’s toddler sessions on at both Air haus Inflatable Park and Jump INC both at Meadowhall, this weekend.

Have a cheap breakfast at IKEA and play in the pretend rooms around the store! Free day out and always works a treat! 😉

Explore! Science, Engineering and More at Sheffield Hallam on Saturday, 12-4pm. “There will be plenty to capture the imagination of all ages from hands-on activities to demonstrations, crafts and competitions.”.

Jump in muddy puddles at Clifton Park in Rotherham before warming up and exploring the free museum. Plenty to see and it’s free.

New family film club on Saturday at Showroom Cinema, showing ET and there’s craft, too.

Get busy baking bread on Saturday at Messy Church, Wesley Hall in Crookes.

Stay dry on Saturday and have a FREE day out at Weston Park Museum. Have you also considered National Emergency Services Museum? Or Kelham Island Museum, which has an indoor play area?

Eureka! is a fantastic interactive museum for little ones in Halifax, and free annual pass too! Perfect for a rainy day.

Nearby is the National Science & Media Museum in Bradford and it’s FREE. Wonderlab is a fantastic hands on, sensory room great for all ages and very interesting. Have older kids? This weekend there’s family space shows 16-17th, free, suitable for 7 years+.

Visit the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum in Doncaster and have a walk around the lakeside.

Try Leonardo’s Sunday Gallery at Millennium Galleries, a drop-in family friendly session 12-3pm.

FRREE on Sunday at Hepworth Wakefield is Colour Play. Family art activity suitable for 2-12 year olds. We love their family art activities and highly recommend them.

Love a bargain? Try your luck at Pedlars Corner Flea Market at Abbeydale Picture House on Sunday, in Sheffield Antique’s Quarter. Heeley City Farm is in the area and free.

Big apple play city, Rotherham

For a fun and big indoor play centre, try Medieval Mayhem for big slides. Big Apple Play City in Rotherham is another popular indoor play centre with a sensory room for little ones, go kart track and big slides.

Weekend prices are slashed at the moment for Cannon Hall Farm.

Baby Katie’s Family Fun-d Day on Sunday at The Old Rectory in Handsworth, Sheffield… “here will be entertainmemt, crafts, stalls, a fantastic raffle, pie and peas, a licensed bar and much much more. Come down and join in the fun and help us raise funds to support a local family who’s 4 year old daughter has grade 4 Brain Cancer”.
