Farmer Copleys in Pontefract, open 5th October-31st October. The biggest pumpkin patch in Yorkshire! This is always a popular one with families every year. There’s thousands upon thousands of pumpkins to find in the huge pumpkin patch at Farmer Copleys, plus other activities, story telling, pumpkin food, tractor barrel ride, face painting, characters, lots of entertainment on. Open 5th-31st October, 9:30am-4:30pm.
Spookday at Sheffield Manor Lodge, October 20th 11am-4pm. Take the family along to the Discovery Centre and follow the pumpkin treasure trail and go on the grizzly history tour. See how scary you all really look in the frightful photo booth and don’t forget to make something monstrous in the creepy craft activity. Down on the farm hear hair raising spooky stories and meet the not so scary guinea pigs, rabbits, donkeys, goats and other animals.
The Halloween Adventure at Stockeld Park, Wetherby. 26th October-3rd November. The Monster Mash Show, Pumpkin Picking, Real Witches in the Enchanted Forest, Ghouls in the Maze, Halloween Catwalk and evening entertainment and activities 6-9pm.
Grimm’s scary tales at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Saturday 26th-Monday 28th. Inspired by the Brothers’ Grimm, our spooky Halloween creations will include live shows, cooky characters, crafts, face-painting and much more.
Halloween party and fireworks display at The Old Rectory in Handsworth, 27th October. Fancy dress party with licensed bar and entertainment on an outdoor stage area, stalls and bouncy castles etc, ending in a 4.30pm firework display. Ideal for small children and families, £5 all ages.
Rufford Abbey’s Annual Halloween Monster Hunt, 12th October-3rd November daily. Join the Rufford Monster Hunt team and follow the map into the haunted hideaways and creepy woods and find out what’s the cause of Rufford’s strange happenings. £2 a map.
Spooktactular Messy Play at Theatre Deli, Sheffield. 19th October, 11am-12 noon. Mess Around’s creepy, crawly, gruesome Spooktacular party has landed. Little ones can mix, pour, dig and explore, from ghostly mud to gory goo. Hear their cackles of delight as they get ghoulishly messy
Spooky soap & Bath bomb making fun day Saturday 19th, 10:30am-4pm at Soap Loaf Company, Sheffield on Abbeydale Road. Drop in, for £5 get: Drinks for all crafters, a treat bag for each crafter, FREE face painting for all crafters, Colouring Pages for all crafters and have fun learning about soap and bath bomb ingredients and colours and take your makes home.
Witches and Wizards at Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre in Sheffield. Every weekend in October and every day during school holidays. Spooky tractor trailer ride, potion class, Halloween inspired arts and crafts including pumpkin carving and face painting. Witches and Wizards School & Activity Trail takes place Saturday 26 October – Sunday 3 November. Spooky tractor rides, fancy dress and themed free flying bird and animal shows take place every October weekend 5/6, 12/13, 19/20 October and throughout the half term holiday 26 October – 3 November. Haunted House open daily from Saturday 5 October – Sunday 3 November.
Halloween Shriek Week and Pumpkin Patch at Boston Park Farm, 19th October-31st October. Search the maize for hidden pumpkins, buy a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch and make your own lantern. Tricks, treats, crafts and games for everyone to enjoy. You don’t need tickets just turn up and pay on the door. £6 adults, £3 toddlers.
DINO Halloween at Robin Hoods Wheelgate Park, Dinosaur meet and greets on the park around 21st-31st October. The main Halloween event is Lil Park of Horrors 21st-31st October with a free pumpkin patch.
Halloween at Eureka! national children’s museum, October 21st – 5th November. Opens at 9:30 during half term. Monster Mash-up show, Ghost Walks – throughout the Eureka! grounds, Make your own monster craft activity, have a go at giant operation and more. Included in admission.
Thoresby trail of wizardry, witchcraft, sorcery and spells, near Nottingham, October 19th-November 3rd. Be sorted into your house, find you animal companion and explore our magical park. Only £2 per trail, available in the Visitor Centre from 10-4pm.
Babies 1st Halloween Party at Playmania Sheffield, October 23rd. Our under 1’s party is ideal – themed sensory session, keep sake, games and time to play. Food is also included for baby and up to 2 adults. Few places left on 1-3 session.
Hallows School of Magical Stories, at Cannon Hall Museum and Gardens. October 26th. There’s 2 sessions, one for 2-4 year olds (£8.50) and one for 5-10 year olds (£9.50) and two time slots for each. Step into the Wizarding Hallows School of Magic and journey through Fairyland to help find the jumbled up stories and spells in time for Halloween! There’s plenty for all ages, with interactive performance for younger years and more adventurous stories for older children.
The Great Pumpkin Festival 2019 at Hebden Bridge. Saturday 26th October from 11am – 5pm. Watch the town come to life with carved pumpkin trails, go searching for Boggarts and ghosts with the wonderful story-teller Ursula Holden-Gill or try your hand at carving your own pumpkin with friends and family.
The Little School of Sorcery at Haddon Hall, 26th October-31st. A plethora of ghastly games and activities to gain their Sorcerers’ wings, including making potions, decorating wands and making brooms and hats. Bring your pumpkin to put on display in the house. Normal admission.
Half-term horrors at Kirklees Light Railway, October 26th-3rd November. Free crafts for ticket holders. There will be creepy craft activities and spooky storytelling sessions which are totally FREE for those holding valid day tickets for the railway. These sessions will be drop-in & there’s no need to book in advance. What’s more, all children getting into the ghostly spirit of things in freaky fancy dress will travel for HALF PRICE! That’s a children’s rover ticket, valid ALL DAY on ALL TRAINS and playgrounds for just £2.75! Trains will be running every 40 minutes from 10.20am until the final train of the day at 3.40pm. The last train on 31 Oct & 1-2 Nov will be at 3pm.
Spooky scarecrow trail at Lotherton Hall in Leeds, from 26th October-3rd November. Spot the scarecrows as you tiptoe around the estate, just make sure you don’t wake them up! Look out for spooky spiders, ghoulish ghosts and wicked witches, hidden all over the house and grounds of Lotherton. Visit skeletown, do creepy crafts, and see animals at Wildlife World.
Free halloween club at Alhambra in Barnsley, 26th October, we will be making pencil toppers and spooky crafts. Plus enjoy face painting, Apple bobbing, lots of sweets and your chance to win a Toffee apple! Free outside entertainer toy shop.
Free Halloween disco and magic show, at Venue Sheffield, October 26th. 6pm-10pm. Sparky Marky will entertain you will his spectacular Magic show for all the family – Doors open 6pm – show starts 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
Storrs Wood Annual Jack O Lantern Spectacular 2019, October 26th-27th. 12-5pm. Entry £2.00 per child £3.00 per adult, but price is free for anyone who brings a carved pumpkin. Stories of the Witch in Storrs Wood told by well know local author and Story teller Carmel Page 3pm- 5pm. (Sunday only), Children’s Treasure Hunt, Woodland Arts & Pumpkin Trail , Affordable art range and gifts , Woodland refreshments (Hot & Cold beverages).
Halloween fun run at Queen’s Park in Chesterfield, October 26th. 6-8:30pm. Under 3’s are free. Come join us and dress up as your favourite scary characters or stories, run as a family, parent and child, a group of friends or just yourself, if you’d like! All on park footpaths, the 5k is four complete laps of the park, the 1.5k is 1 lap up and round the lake, both courses are traffic free and marshalled, suitable for all abilities to run or walk with both evenjts starting at 6pm.
FREE! Halloween community day event at Roche Abbey in Rotherham, October 26th, 10:30-4pm. Free entry for everyone, as a Hallowe’en event, face painting, colour your own finger puppet, spooky tales with our resident witch & more.
Halifax Spooktacular at Manor Heath Park, October 26th. 5:30-9pm. FREE Parking, Arena with FREE Family Entertainment, FREE Spooky Tunnel (Over twice the length of 2018’s!), FREE Treasure Hunt, FREE Fancy Dress Competition with Prizes, Charity Stalls, Refreshments and the biggest fireworks display in Calderdale. Adults: £7, Children*: £5, Family Ticket: £20 (for up to 2 adults and 3 children*), under 3s free.
Family Latern Walk in Locke Park, Barnsley on October 27th. 1 mile fundraising walk led by a samba band, with Halloween-themed merchandise, face painting, a mini funfair and plenty of food and drink will be on offer (including lovely mulled wine and cider for the big kids!). Tickets are £8pp or £25 for a family of 4 and includes a lantern, goody bag and fundraising pack.
Sheffield Out Of This World Festival. October 27th. FREE – taking place all over the city centre. So much to do and see. Step into a parallel universe of sci-fi, mystery and magic as Out Of This World returns to Sheffield with fun, free activities for all the family. The event will once again be divided into three zones on the themes of sci-fi, magic and Halloween. Expect illusions, magic shows and workshops, spooktacular fun for the little ones on The Moor, sci-fi, gaming and comics in the Town Hall and a whole host of your favourite characters and heroes in the Winter Garden and Peace Gardens. Add to that music and dance entertainment, and all the fun of the fair in Barkers Pool, Tudor Square and Fargate. Last years info here.
Same day as Out Of This World, Sunday 27th October 2019 – 11am to 4pm is The Moor’s Little Monster Party. Street entertainment, rides, games, music workshops, story telling, dinosaurs, apple bobbing & more. FREE in the city centre.
Halloween at Aston Springs Farm, various things happening for halloween from 28th October-1st November. Small animal handling, pumpkin trail, young farmers day and more.
Play Valley’s halloween party in Sheffield, October 29th, 5:30-7:30pm. There’ll be a DISCO, DELICIOUS PARTY FOOD, GAMES and of course all the fun you always find at Play Valley Sheffield. Tickets cost £9.95 per child, and there’ll be prizes for the best dressed children, so it’s time to get creative!

Halloween Fun for Little Learners at Clifton Park and Museum, October 23rd. Two sessions, AM and PM. For 1-4 year olds with crafts and sensory play.
Halloween Spooky woodland party, at Potteric Carr, 30th October 1pm-2:30pm. It’s that spooky time of year again, so dress up, and join the Halloween party in our woodland. We will have a campfire and cook some Halloween treats and make some spooky crafts. Prebook here.

Over 1’s halloween party at Playmania Sheffield, October 31st. This our over 1’s halloween party. £10.95 includes everything you need for a spooky halloween; play, games, characters, food and drink and so much more.
Halloween at Mother Shipton’s Cave, 26th October-3rd November. Adults £9, children £7. This Halloween visit England’s Oldest Tourist Attraction for a good old-fashioned scare, suitable for all ages. Follow the haunted trail through the historic woodland to find monsters, ghosts and skeletons hiding around every corner.

Crags Halloween Party, October 31st at Creswell Craggs. 2pm-5:30pm. Especially for our visitors aged 10 and under, we’re holding this event in support of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. Your ticket allows you to take part in fun games and activities located around our visitor centre (and outside, weather permitting) – take part in all of them and collect a stamp to get a goody bag at the end! Heeley City Farm, Sheffield usually have a halloween event every year. It’s not online yet, but it’s usually free entry with a couple quid for the spooky trail. There’s a BBQ, creepy games, pumpkin carving during the day, live music and crafts. Check out last years event here. I’ll update this when I have more details.
Autumn half-term fun at Chatsworth House. October 26th-3rd November. Experience fiendish fun finding hidden pumpkins, dare to enter the abandoned tunnnel and listen to spine-tingling storytelling in the garden. Bring you little monsters to the farmyard to meet the animals and join in with creepy crafts. If you’re feeling brave, dare to ride the Fright flight into Warlock Wood, where we need your help taking care of a dastardly array of characters.
Sheffield Manor Lodge halloween holiday crafts. Every Monday-Thursday in October school holidays, they’ll be Halloween wreath, pumpkin witch treat box and a monster bookmark. Plus sandpit, maze and ruins to explore. £4 per crafter.
Halloween trail around Ladybower Reservoir! From Saturday 26th October to Sunday 3rd November. Everyday from 10:30am until 3:30pm you can join in the spooky fun this October half term. Fancy dress isn’t mandatory but is highly encouraged. The trail packs are available to purchase from the Visitor Centre shop for £3.00 each. Once you’ve completed the trail you can collect your prizes, a Halloween crafts activity pack and some trick or treat goodies from the Visitor Centre shop.
Halloween at Clifton Park & Museum. October 26-31st, with 3 different times sessions on each day, £10.95 per child book here. “Halloween at Clifton Park presents: The Wizard of Roth. Your session starts by picking your pumpkin in the land of Roth, meet Dotty, the Lion, the steel man, scarecrow and the wizard of Roth. Then carve your pumpkin with your own design. Afterwards take a trip round the park on the train to the amusements for an hour of unlimited rides”

Pumpkin Festival at Cannon Hall Farm, Barnsley. Pick your own pumpkin at Cannon Hall Farm’s Halloween event: Pumpkin festival and Wizardry. There’s thousands of pumpkins available to pick and carve. Open October 9-10, then 26th-31st. Daily shows, spell book challenge, farm, playgrounds and more. £10.95 per person if you book online here.
Halloween Spooky Garden Walk at Wortley Hall, S35. Halloween Garden Walk is just £10 for adults and £6 for children at Wortley Hall. There’s two dates to choose from: 29th October or 30th October. Your little terrors will get to pick their own pumpkin from the garden and bring it back in to the Hall to carve. Once in the warmth of the Hall carving away, there will be a hot chocolate for the children and a hot mulled wine for the adults. There will be a prize for the best pumpkin and the best fancy dress.
Whirlow Hall Halloween Monster Parade Event, S11 9QF, October 31st, 12-5pm. Pick a Pumpkin from the Pumpkin patch, outdoor cinema, lantern parade, room on the broom outdoor cinema, slime making, children’s entertainer and LOTS more. Free parking.
