Hello and welcome back. I’ve been on a little break with my blog due to some personal happenings and a holiday… so my usual big lists for school holidays unfortunately didn’t happen for Easter. However, I’m getting back to normal this week and instead of a usual weekend roundup I thought I would extend it to cover next week which is the Easter holidays for Sheffield?! So whether you have plans or not, take a look at what’s on this weekend and easter holidays for kids in Sheffield because there’s some amazing stuff happening and fabulous FREE events for families. What’s on in/near Sheffield for Kids this Easter
Throughout Easter Holidays
Daily 24th March – 15th April, Mad About Madagascar at Tropical Butterfly House, Sheffield. Meet amazing Madagascan species up close, plus your child can take part in the Easter Egg Trail on Easter Sunday and Monday… follow the trail and hunt for clues to win an Easter Egg! With daily animal encounters including meet the Easter bunnies or chicks, free tractor trailer rides, and Easter and Madagascar-themed crafts and activities, there’s sure to be something for everyone.
See Shrek the Musical at Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, dates from Wednesday 28th March – April 8th.
Easter Egg Hunt at Rufford Abbey Country Park, only £2 for the trail sheets. From Saturday 24th March – Sunday 15th April.
Haddon Hall will be joining in Easter celebrations from 25th March-4th April, with Pin-the-Pom-Pom on the bunny rabbit and Egg & Spoon racing, Easter crafts and our ever popular Easter Trail.
At Cannon Hall farm, families can enjoy Easter Adventure with lots going on, like farm admission, in & outdoor play, easter bunny, easter show, Easter eggs, ferret racing and tons more. All included in admission which is £9.95.
Lots of Easter fun happening at Egg-stravaganza, Piglets Adventure Farm in York. From March 27th-April 15th there’s play barn, mad hatter shows, Easter egg hunt, lambing live, play areas and loads more all included in admission.
Daily at Wollaton Park in Nottingham is Easter Egg Trail from March 27th-April 15th. £1 per trail, find the clues and win a prize. Plus museum, playground and deer park!
Get outdoors and enjoy Easter Holiday Activities at RSPB Old Moor, with pond dipping, bug hunting and Easter trail available.
Meet Peter Rabbit at Mother Shiptons Cave, North Yorkshire, every day from March 27th-April 15th. Discover McGreggors Garden, meet characters who will help families complete a themed adventure quiz sheet and lots more.
Have fun at Williams Den with extra easter activities on until April 5th.
It’s Tournament Weekend for Easter at Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, this is a very popular event and you must book tickets, prices start from £10.50 adult.
York Easter Festival 2018 daily from March 28th-2nd April, lots of FREE fun and family friendly entertainment as the York Easter Family Festival is back with a jam packed programme of activities over the Bank Holiday weekend. Plus, funfair, easter panto and lots more!
Sneaky Experience are back at Kirkstall Abbey March 30th for A Peter Rabbit Experience. Meet all the characters, interact, play, discover, sing, complete a tail trail and lots more special fun with a unique experience guaranteed. Timed slots throughout the day.
Hop through Strid Wood and keep your eyes peeled for our larger than life bunnies hiding in the trees at Bolton Abbey. The Easter Trail runs from 30th March-15th April and is a FREE event.
Get outdoors and enjoy the Cadbury Egg Hunt at Longshaw Estate, Friday 30th March – 2nd April, £3. Bunny’s been up to his usual tricks! He’s hidden clues about spring wildlife around the woods and countryside at Longshaw for you to solve. When you’ve completed his challenge, be rewarded with a Cadbury chocolate treat. Don’t forget to do the Bogart trail and the Spring Discovery Trail!
CADBURY EGG HUNT! In addition to Longshaw, Nostell Priory also have the Cadbury egg hunt running this easter and has a fantastic adventure playground. Egg hunt runs daily until 2nd April.
Renishaw Hall & Gardens have their annual Easter Trail on, daily from Friday 30th March – 1st April, children under 16 go free.
See Animals and Emergency Services at National Emergency Services Museum, all easter weekend, from Friday 30th March-2nd April, 10am-4pm. Includes easter crafts, museum admission and more!
Sunday 1st at Sheffield Manor Lodge: Easter egg Hunt, £5 per child, 11am-4pm. no need to book. Search for lost eggs scattered throughout the Tudor grounds, solve the riddles and claim a chocolate egg prize. Included in the entry is an Easter Egg Hunt, Easter themed craft, Meet the animals and unlimited bouncy castle turns, plus donkey rides and more.
Hot Cross Bunnies Easter Hunt Trail at Kelham Island Museum is included in admission to the museum on April 1st & 2nd. Under 16’s free. Complete the trail around the museum to win a prize.
The popular Huge Easter egg hunt at Graves Park runs from 30th March-2nd April with OVER 18000 eggs to find! £2.50 per child. In each Hunt their is also 10 coloured eggs to find if you do find a coloured egg please take it to the shop to “eggchange” it for real egg! Starts 11:30am.
On Saturday 31st Heeley City Farm have an Easter egg hunt, 12pm-2pm, £1.50 per sheet.
Explore the woodland for Easter on Saturday 10am-12pm with Foresteers at Glen Howe Park for Family Fun. £8 a child includes trail, chocolate egg & toasted marshmallow.
Find the chicks in The Moor Market at the Chick Hunt, Saturday 11am-3pm, free to enter and chance to win a prize.
It’s Easter family Fun day! at Devonshire Arms pub in S7 on Sunday. Call to book. Includes face painting, Easter egg hunts, colouring competitions and Easter raffles!
SNC is hosting an Egg-tastic children’s Easter party in Shiregreen Community Centre on 31st March 12:30-2:30pm. Tickets are £3.50 and include food & drink.
The Clifton Park Easter Fair is free entry, April 1st-2nd. They’ll be activities including a children’s Easter egg scramble, stalls selling delicious food and drink and a large bar area, birds of prey, rides, music and entertainment.
A variety of FREE events at ZEST Sheffield throughout the Easter Holidays, including Easter crafts on Tuesday 3rd and Egg hunt on Wednesday 4th.
Hoppy Easter in Rotherham on Saturday 10:30-3:30pm, with walkabouts Hopalot, an Easter-themed Magic Show, crafts, balloon modelling, cupcake decorating (50p per child), Easter Bonnet Competition and more.

April 2nd Monday
Seasonal Fun Drum session in Wesley Hall, Sheffield. Walking in the woods and meeting all the spring animals, suitable for ages 0-6, drumming, singing, percussion, role play and puppets. High energy parent participation session.
Egg Hunt at The Cricket Inn, Sheffield S17, 12-6pm. Meet the Easter Bunny, explore the garden and find some eggs. Plus, kids eat free!
Its the famous annual Endcliffe Park Duck Race! In it’s 10th year, this duck race attracts hundreds of people from all over Sheffield and raises funds for Forge Dam. Buy your ducks from 10am, enjoy entertainment and the race starts at 2pm.
April 3rd-11th April
Explore & play with Wild Play sessions with Wild Sheffield at Ecclesall Woods. Perfect fun for outdoors families! Search for signs of spring in these adventurous sessions in the woods, variety of slots available with an AM and PM from 3rd-11th April, booking essential.
Easter Crafts at Chantery Centre, Sheffield s8, 10am-12pm, free!! Includes easter decoration making and refreshments.
Easter Hop at Sheffield General Cemetery, Hop along to our special birds’ nesting-themed family Easter craft event and celebrate Spring with the family at our 2-hour Easter holiday workshop, £3 a child.
Mad Hatter’s Easter Adventure at Meadowhall sounds really lovely. Running daily from April 3rd-April 15th, adventure with Alice down the rabbit hole and meet the Queen of Hearts. Free, advised for 4-11 year olds.
FREE Event at Tinsley Tingas (The Old Tinsley Infant School) Wednesday 11th, 10am-2pm, have fun making a lego train, easter crafts and lots more in association with Heeley City Farm.
