Bolehills Recreation Ground Playground, Sheffield

One of my favourite playgrounds in sheffield is at Bolehills Recreation Ground in Crookes. The recreation ground is a fantastic place with a great playground, climbing rocks, good views over Sheffield & ball games. We always have a good day out when we go here and even though it’s just a local recreation ground, it’s a great free day out. Bolehills Recreation Ground Playground, Sheffield

Bolehill Recreation Ground is tucked away behind lots of house in Crookes. The postcode is S10 1QH. On foot the easiest way to find it is to cut down one of the side streets either Longfield Road or Northfield Avenue. It’s very close to Rivelin Valley Park and Walkley.

There are some basketball courts, huge big rocks to climb on, open spaces to play and run around, plus a fantastic playground. There has just been a brand new climbing frame with 2 slides put in, plus an older style adventure playground frame and slide, a big single slide, swings, zip wire and picnic areas. Some other equipment includes gym-style frames, rockers and bouncing swing. There’s a good variety of stuff for all ages, really, from little toddlers to teenagers.

The playground is not huge but there’s definitely enough space to play without it being too busy. Eric’s favourite parts are the climbing frame, swings, big slide and zip wire. There is also a BMX Track.

In the playground are picnic benches around the edges and some tree tunnels, good for exploring!

There are no toliets, no cafe and no designated parking. But seeing as it is in a residential area there is plenty of parking nearby. The no toilet situation can be tricky but the park is not far from the Main Street in Crookes which has cafes, pubs and delis.

We can spend a few hours there with a picnic and after the playground climbing on the big rocks is a must. The rocks are on the other end of the park to the playground.
