If you’re going to do something this year, go to Chatsworth House in the summer.
A day at Chatsworth House is always one of my most favourite days out. Perfect for all the family in the Peak District, Chatsworth House has something for everyone of all ages. I’ve been visiting Chatsworth for years, and I always have a lovely time there. Our toddler loves Chatsworth House farmyard and amazing adventure playground and we visit all year round. It’s fun for adults too! This was our first visit of the year and we were blessed with lovely weather!
Watch our video of the park, farmyard and adventure playground, it’s my favourite we have done so far:

Eric loves the tractor, a quick tip if it is busy is to use it whilst most of the kids are at an animal handling session.
Don’t miss out on the Guinea Pig village handling sessions though which are always a big hit with families; get in the que early!
Upstairs in the farm yard are more animals, a handling barn with educational activities, birds and little ride-ons!
After fun at the farm, we head upto the playgrounds.
In the summer, bringing swimming equipment, bucket andspades and towels is a must! The playgrounds have water and sand play areas, perfect for all ages to enjoy, and kids love playing in the stream. The park is so peaceful and the atmosphere is my favoruite thing about it. It has lovely views over the Peak District.
Now onto the next part of the park…
I’ve never been to a playground like this before! We climbed up to the top for the big slide, I was terrified, all the kids were laughing at me. Hahaha!
After 3 hours there, it was time to head home. Baby was so tired and worn out, he could barely keep his eyes open and he was asleep by the time we left Chatsworth! We walked from Chatsworth to Baslow, stopping at the wheatshef hotel which has the most amazing beer garden.
Thank you for reading and watching, I hope you have a lovely time at Chatsworth too!
