Free day out: 6 reasons why you’ll love Clifton Park & Museum, Rotherham

You’ll know that trips with a tot is all about outdoors and free days out; those are two of our favourite things! We are lucky to have so many great places to go for water fun in and around Sheffield, and one of the best free ones is Clifton Park in Rotherham.

Clifton Park & Museum is a fantastic FREE day out with adventure playgrounds, museum, sandpits, funfair, mini golf, water splash and more.

Clifton Park & Museum is fantastic ALL YEAR ROUND and not just for the water splash!

Clifton Park is completely free to visit all year round and under-rated. Many people I know don’t even know about it, they think it doesn’t have much to do, or that apart from the water splash it’s just a boring old park. Wrong! There is LOADS to do at Clifton Park and it’s one of our favourite free days out in the local area.

Top tips…

Going to this park during colder months? Still go in the splash area! The water is not on but the rock pools, walls and boulders are still fun to climb on.

Climb at the rock garden. Find the rock garden up near the museum, there is a little path leading down to it. It’s great for climbing, seeing squirrels and even frogs in the water.

Find the water feature near the entrance. Throw pennies in and make a wish!

Visit Grimm & Co in Rotherham; a wonderful magical apothecary.
