Langold Country Park in Worksop S81 9QW, has a really fantastic splash and water park which is completely free. This is a free day out that has always been recommended to us and one you should have on your summer bucket list. The Sea scoundrel splash park has a “wide variety of water features over a 45 metre interactive play zone! With a pirate ship, jet sprays, boulders, splash slide and water table”. Sounds good, right?! And parking is free. Review: Langold Country Park with FREE Sea Scoundrel splash park

I asked my community group what they thought and Claire sent in her review for us! She said…
“We went the other day and loved it. I was worried it wouldn’t be worth the drive (about 45 mins from south Sheffield) but it totally was.
When we arrived we walked past the play areas to a quieter field, and sat in the bandstand to eat our picnic. Then we walked around the lake which was lovely and shaded.
Although it was busy it didn’t seem too overcrowded, there is plenty of space on the grass surrounding the water and play areas. Both of my children loved the water splash (18 months and 7 years old) . There was a kiosk selling hot food and snacks such as chips and burgers, but we didn’t try this as we’d taken a picnic.
We did have ice creams though and my son had a slush! The toilet facilities were ok to a basic standard. Although, there wasn’t really any changing areas, which my son probably would have preferred especially as it was busy.
The best bit was definitely the water!! But a word of warning… The surface in some of the play area (the dry bit) got VERY hot, and as it not fenced off separately to the water bit, my kids both ran over from the water bare foot and screamed at the heat.”
Have you been? If so, what do you think?
