Millhouses Park, S7 2QQ
Millhouses park contains open grassed areas, woodlands, and floral displays. Free water play area, boating lake, cafe, playground, skate park, tennis courts, zip wire and lots more. Water play is open daily and surrounded by lovely grassy areas for picnics. There are no fountains, but water tables/play equipment and a shallow river style path. This one is fantastic for toddlers and younger children.
Rivelin Valley Park, S6 5FY
The splash park at Rivelin Valley Park near Hillsborough is one of the most popular in Sheffield. The water play area is open weekends from 11am to 5pm until 14 July 2018 and open 7 days a week from 11am to 5pm from Saturday 14 July to Sunday 3 September. It has disabled access and is near the cafe off Rivelin Valley Road. The paddling pool is the best part! The rest of the park is great, too, with a playground, cafe and nature trails. Langold Country Park, S81 9QW
The Sea Scroundel splash park at Langold Country Park is open daily from 10:00am and 6:00pm from Friday 4th May through to Sunday 9th September. Newly renovated in 2015, featuring “a wide variety of water features over a 45 metre interactive play zone! With a pirate ship, jet sprays, boulders, splash slide and water table”. This one is great for all ages and older kids.
Peace Gardens, S1 2HH
In Sheffield City Centre, the Peace Gardens are a very popular award winning inner city space next to Sheffield Town Hall with grassy areas, fountains and water features. In the summer Sheffield By The Seaside is a FREE event fantastic for families with a pop up beach, rides, stalls, characters and combined with the fountains to splash in makes an all-round fun day out. The fountains are on daily despite the weather!
Clifton Park & Museum, S65 2AA
Arguably the very best splash park and free summer day out in South Yorkshire, there’s loads to do at Clifton Park & Museum in Rotherham. The water play area features 4 “zones” with big fountains, a paddling area, rock pool area and smaller fountains. There is something for all ages! Grassy areas all around the water make perfect picnic areas for families whilst children play. Plus there are fantastic playgrounds including adventure playgrounds & toddler playgrounds, sandpit, funfair, land train, cafe, museum and rock garden. Clifton Park splash park is open daily during Rotherham school holidays and outside of school holidays there is a special Toddler Tuesday water play session. These are every Tuesday AM and cost £2 (refundable with refreshments) starting from June, weather permitting.
