Knaresborough is on my to-visit list for this year and with it is Bebra Gardens in Knaresborough. I found this garden while I was looking up things to do in Knaresborough and it looks really nice. It even has a paddling pool and it’s FREE!
Bebra Gardens are a small, hidden gem and found close to Knaresborough Castle. Entrance is found on Brewerton Street, HG5 8AZ. All day parking is at HG5 8DF.
It has a certificate of Excellence on TripAdvisor. People say… “We visited the gardens when we were walking from the castle to the waterside. we were very impressed – what a beautiful space”, “Beautiful well kept place a true delight to knaresboroughs natural beauty and free for everyone to enjoy. I love this place”, “Just below the castle are these gardens which are well tended. There are lots of little paths to meander around and benches to rest and just take in the views”.
The paddling pool is in a beautifully landscaped garden attached to the Castle Gardens. The pool looks over the valley towards the River Nidd and is a perfect place to enjoy both the gardens and the pool. The paddling pool is open from Spring Bank Holiday (at the end of May) to the first week in September.
“This hidden gem, which provides a haven from the hustle and bustle of the town centre is named in honour of the town’s links with Bebra, Germany. The gardens are on a steep slope and there are sloping, meandering pathways leading through mature trees and conifers. The paths lead to the paddling pool at the lowest point and onto Waterside below”.
