How many will you visit?
Alton Towers Cbeebies Land, Alton, Stoke-on-Trent ST10 4DB
You’ve probably heard of Alton Towers resort. It’s a biggg theme park in Staffordshire with big rides, small rides, extreme rides and everything in-between. An impressive water park, spa, mini golf and hotel complex.
And, for little ones, it’s famous for Cbeebies Land. The only place in the UK with a dedicated place for all things Cbeebies… and even a Cbeebies Hotel.
What’s at Cbeebies Land? 14 rides and attractions, live shows and character favourites like Justin’s House, Mr. Bloom, Go Jetters, In The Night Garden & many more.
I’m dying to take Eric, he loves Cbeebies & I must admit I’m a bit of a kid myself and really want to stay in the hotel! I thought he was too little last year to really appreciate it (and would have been too small for most of the rides) but I’m seriously considering it in 2019 for his 4th birthday…
Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s Park, Ower, Romsey SO51 6AL
Paultons Park is in Ower, near Romsey, in Hampshire, England. S051 6AL. It has 70 rides and attractions and is home to Peppa Pig World. Yes, this one is quite the journey from Yorkshire and you’re probably thinking it doesn’t deserve a place in this post but from families who have been from sheffield do say it is worth it.
Rides at Peppa Pig World include Grampy Rabbits Sailing Club: a log flume/water style ride, Queen’s Flying Coach Ride: a monorail that travels around the new area of the park, George’s Dinosaur Adventure: sit-on dinosaur ride on rails, Daddy pigs car ride, Grandpa pigs mini train, Grandpa pigs boat trip, Peppa’s big balloon ride, Miss Rabbit’s helicopter flight and Windy Castle ride.
Peppa and all her friends are around for photo opportunities every day, throughout the day. There’s an indoor play area, The Queen’s Kitchen, picnic area, muddy puddles water splash area and Mr Potatoes Playground. Not only that but there are another 3 themed worlds at Paultons Park: Lost Kingdom, Critter Creek and Little Africa and around 70 rides in the rest of the theme park!
Butlins Resort Just For Tots breaks
Butlins Just For Tots breaks are unique toddler friendly holidays… “Enjoy a short toddler friendly holiday that’s designed exclusively for tots; from early starts to bedtime stories and everything in between”. These breaks are at all 3 of Butlins Resorts: Minehead, Skegness and Bogner Regis term time throughout the year.
Weekend or weekday, these breaks are jam packed full of toddler friendly activities, entertainment, shows, things to do and much more. The breaks also feature a special guest/celebrity such as Justin Fletcher, Bing, Mr Men & Little Miss, Teletubbies and/or Danger Mouse (dates dependent). And the best thing is that it’s all included in your holiday price.
If it sounds too good to be true, it’s not. We went in autumn 2017, thought it was fantastic and are planning to go back this year October 2019. These breaks really are fantastic value for money and something you won’t find anywhere else. You’ll be exhausted come the end of it, though!
Drayton Manor, Tamworth B78 3TW
There’s a theme park and zoo at Drayton Manor. But more attractive for kids has to be the Thomas Land! Read our review here!
Thomas themed rides included Bertie Bus, Blue Mountain Engines, Crankey’s Tower Drop and many more favourites.
“With over 25 rides and attractions, make sure you make enough time for your little Thomas fan to explore The Island of Sodor at Drayton Manor Park. The park is home to Europe’s only Thomas Land with the biggest Thomas Shop, exclusive VIP Party Rooms and Thomas himself ‘PEEP PEEP-ing’ his way down the tracks – what more could any Thomas loving little engine want?
Thomas Land was introduced to Drayton Manor Park in 2008, giving little fans the chance to meet Thomas the Tank Engine and enjoy Thomas & Friends favourites such as Bertie Bus, Harold’s Helicopter Tour and Cranky’s Tower Drop. The Island of Sodor increased in size by 40% in 2015 when we welcomed Toby’s Tram Express and Captain’s Seas Adventure to name a few”.
There’s a Thomas hotel, too, with short breaks available in the Drayton Hotel.
Flamingo Land is a theme park, zoo and resort in North Yorkshire. It’s big, and there’s a lot to do there! It’s the UK’s most visited zoo.
There’s good winter deals on for off-peak at only £7.50 & £12, prices during summer are much higher but include everything.
At Flamingo Land, there’s a water park, Peter Rabbit playgrounds and appearances, shows, zoo with over 120 species, aviary, big rides, small rides, extreme rides, aquarium and more.
The Deep, HU1 4DP
I’d be surprised if you haven’t heard of The Deep. This huge aquarium in Hull is home to over 3,000 creatures including sharks and sawfish.
The Deep has the only penguins in the north of England and Green sawfish – the only place in the UK where you can see them. It’s famous for the UK’s only underwater lift in the “Endless Ocean”. Pay once and get free returns for 12 months. There’s seasonal activities, kids mornings and more.
Sundown Adventureland, Retford DN22 0HX
This theme park is especially designed for under 10’s. It’s got a real nostalgic feel to it, lots of rides suitable for toddlers, not many rules and fantastic play areas!
What’s great about Sundown Adventureland is how everything is for kids and there isn’t many rules on what you can’t go on. I took Eric late summer 2018, he’s small and usually is below the regular height restrictions for things in theme parks but here, there was no issue at all. Almost every ride you can go on with your child.
Play areas are aplenty from the big Angry Birds adventure playground with wooden structures, sand pits and little tikes climbing frames, to small pre-school suited animal playgrounds with gorilla swings!
And if rides aren’t enough, there’s a story book village, indoor soft play centre, toy town, yellow brick road and so much more to see.
Yorkshire Wildlife Park, DN4 6TB
Yorkshire Wildlife Park is the UK’s No.1 Walk-through Wildlife Park Adventure, with over 300 different animals. Home to polar bears, brown bears, giraffes, tigers and many more amazing animals… this popular wildlife park is a fantastic day out for all ages.
There are so many play areas at YWP, making it super fun for little ones! We love the big adventure playground and indoor play area. There are plenty of places to eat and a shopping village. YWP has a busy calendar of events, too, including shows, seasonal events and even football screenings.
And even more… Ultimate Big Family Days Out & Attractions to visit:
Gullivers Kingdom, Matlock Bath. Rides, indoor play, outdoor play, JCB area, Dinosaurs: Lost World and much more!
Diggerland, Yorkshire WF10 5NW. With rides and drives for digger crazy children at this theme park. Plus outdoor play areas, coin operated rides, indoor play and food outlets.
Eureka! The National Children’s Museum. The only museum dedicated just for children in Halifax. Take a look at their special toddler days, plus seasonal events, shows and activities throughout the year. Free return entry for 12 months with an upgraded (no extra cost) annual pass. Play heaven in a museum!
Trip to London? There is so much to see and do in London, and if you travel by train from Sheffield you could get there in just over 2 hours. Plus, if you do travel by train you can get 2 for 1 national rail vouchers for many top days out. We love London and I do recommend! Must visit: Sky Garden (it’s free!) for amazing views of London.
Blackpool attractions. Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower (7 attractions in one), Madame Tussauds are just three of the many, many attractions in Blackpool. We went to Blackpool in Spring 2018 and couldn’t believe how much there is to do there. There’s some fantastic options on combination tickets for attractions, saving you lots of money if you want to do more than one. We did Madame Tussauds and Blackpool Tower; both were much better than I expected!
