Saturday 12-4pm at Mount Pleasant Park, Eid Family Sports Afternoon. First food for first 80 people, cakes and clothes, sports and more. There’s also Sheffield Eid Fun day at U-Mix Centre on Saturday, 12-7pm with bouncy castle.

IKEA Summer Fete all weekend, DJ, glitter tattooist, family friendly treasure hunt, games!

Food festival at Cannon Hall Farm food festival for 4 days 24th-27th August. 100 exhibitors, rides, beach and loads more, plus farm, outdoor play and entertainment.

Join in at the duck race in Millhouses Park on Saturday! 11-4pm, ducks will race on the hour every hour.

Find a pop up beach: Lakeside, Meadowhall, Rotherham or Sheffield By the seaside! Or Rufford Abbey; which is very popular on our community group at the moment.

Free story telling at Waterstones: 11:30am for picture books and 3-4pm for crafts, games and story.

Sherwood Forest railway are promising a fantastic bank holiday weekend event, with free bouncy castle, railway, boat pond, all just for £2.

Two comic-cons in one place on Saturday at Venue Stocksbridge: Mines and Monsters.

Summer Holiday Fun at South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum is still on and open on bank holidays! This one is on my bucket list!

Watch live theatre at Sheffield Amphitheatre for Rain or Shine Fest. Pay as you feel.

Wild Live Safari nights at Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Saturday, 12-10pm.

Go along to the Rotherham fire station open day on Sunday, 10-4 with demonstrations, turntable ladder, dj and more fire station fun.

If you’re into tractors, then you’ll love TRACTOR WORLD at Thorton Hall Country Park. On bank holiday Sunday & Monday, tractors of all shapes and sizes and tractor rides, too.

See the stunt spectacular Wild West show at Royal Armouries, 25th-27th. This is always a popular one and don’t forget you can get a water taxi to and from Leeds docks.

Watch the Princess & The Giant at Harewood House in Leeds on 26th at 5pm in the outdoor theatre.

Lots of family fun and activities going on over the weekend at Farmer Copleys including a maize maze game, jumping pillows, mini wagon ride, bale mountain and more.

Have a super fun and cheap day out at National Coal Mining Museum for England. There’s loads to do like an adventure playground, pit ponies, indoor play area, train, beach and Hope Pit Explore is on throughout bank holiday. We loved it.

Meet Bess of Hardwick, play in the sandpits and do the lavender maze at Sheffield Manor Lodge on Sunday, 11-4pm.

Bank Holiday fun day and market on Monday at Old refectory in Handsworth 11-4pm.

The popular Sheffield Fayre is on this Monday at Norfolk Park. Free with loads going on, family crafting, fair rides, music, dance, classic cars, RSPCA and lots more, plus the new adventure playground is fantastic.

Enjoy a lovely family walk at Longshaw Estate, National Trust. Free! The boggart trail is lots of fun.

Try the Maize Maze (and loads more to do) at Boston Park Farm

Bakewell Park is a good day out in the lovely historical village and in the playground has a free water play area.

Cliffe Park is a free adventure playground in Dronfield with free parking and a lovely cafe!

Hav you been to Bears! yet at The Cooper Gallery? It’s free!

Lovely parks in Sheffield for the weekend

Ruskin Park, S6 3JQ has a sandpit and good playground

Graves Park S8 9FL & Woodseats Playground, S8 so much to do plus a cafe and free animal farm.

High Hazels Park, S9 4PE large playground with sandpits.

Forge Dam S10 4GL, a wonderful day out with a lovely cafe, woodlands, playground and walking trails. One of our favourite free family days out: read this!

Endcliffe Park, S11 7AB, good park for families with funfair, nice cafe, parkour and large playground. Plus woodlands and open fields for running around!

Rother Valley Country Park, S26 5PQ, sporting facilities, cafes, walks around the water, playgrounds and some animals.

Rivelin Valley Park, S6 5GL wonderful park with free water park, nature trails, woodlands, cafe, good big playground.

Norfolk Heritage Park, S2 2PL large park with ancient woodlands, cafe and community centre. Be aware the playgrounds being renovated currently if you’re thinking of going.

Crookes Valley Park, S10 1DJ just behind Weston Park Museum, small playground but has all you need for lots of fun, plus family pub and a walk around the water.

Hillsborough Park and Hillsborough Park Walled Garden S6 2AS, a wonderful park with duck pond, library, beautiful walled garden (a must visit) and playground with new climbing frame/slide, plus fields for games/running around. Get this free trail for 10 things to spot!

Bole Hill Recreation Ground S10 1QH, lovely playground high up in the hills with fantastic views over the city, rocks to climb, BMX track and picnic areas.

Heeley People’s Park S2 3DJ, combine this with a visit to Heeley City Farm to make a really good, all round freeday out. The park has great equipment plus little bike track and paths winding around.

Highfield Adventure Playground – Commuunity run and staffed adventure playground with mud kitchens, slides, ropes, sand pits and cafe. Check opening times.
